Aquila offers a perfect location for weekend retreats, romantic
gateways and exploration of the Grampians native environment.
Four, architecturally designed, high quality lodges are thoughtfully
placed in the bush environment to create a uniquely peaceful and luxurious
atmosphere in a relaxing private setting.
The lodges are nestled in 100 acres of virgin bushland – bordered
by the Grampians National park and the Dunkeld Golf Course, located 6 kilometres
from Dunkeld in the Southern Grampians.
The property is recognised for its ecological significance and is covenanted
with ‘Trust for Nature’, which will protect the unique bushland
forever.
It is an unspoilt environment that abounds in native fauna and flora
that makes Aquila one of top tourist attractions.
Aquila’s flora and fauna have been surveyed by “Trust for Nature “and
include many species unique to the Grampians.
Fifty seven native orchid varieties have been recorded on Aquila property.
A number of the native orchids found on the property are rare and endangered,
attracting many orchid enthusiasts to Aquila.
Over 200 bird varieties recorded on the Aquila property create a haven for
those who love bird watching activities.
Kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, shingle back and blue tongue
lizards are all residents at Aquila and never fail to excite both local and
international visitors.
The Aquila Eco Lodges have been designed as a showcase for living in harmony
with the environment.

such as use of rain water, solar power, self composting waste treatment,
